NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — State wildlife officials say a Florida panther was found dead along Alligator Alley in southwest Florida.

The News-Press of Fort Myers (http://newspr.es/1ykuwBX ) reports the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said Sunday that the panther's body was discovered at mile marker 95.

The panther was a 5- or 6-year-old male. Officials say it was hit by a vehicle about three miles from the end of the highway's wildlife fencing.

On Saturday the carcass of a 7-year-old male panther was found near mile marker 132 on Interstate 75 in Lee County.

Officials say four panthers have been killed so far this year.
