MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a barge has crashed into a bridge over the Indian River in central Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the barge struck the bridge at State Road 528 in Merritt Island on Friday morning.
It wasn't known what caused the crash or whether anyone was injured.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
