TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Governor Rick Scott, today, signed an executive order authorizing a reduced cost for lifetime sportsman's licenses.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will now be able to offer the licenses to Florida children and young adults at half the price from November 24 through December 31, 2014.

The price will be reduced from $1,000 to $500 for Florida residents who are 21-years old and younger.

A lifetime sportsman's license allows fishing and hunting in Florida for the rest of the license holder's life, even if that person is no longer a resident of the state.

The license covers saltwater and freshwater recreational fishing, hunting, and most associated permits.
