TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – Sgt. Stewart Smith confirms that the standoff between a couple at a motel in West Point near Lovelace Road has ended. 

Officials say 44-year-old William Boyette has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and 37-year-old Mary Rice has turned herself into authorities. 

No officials were injured during the standoff. 

According to Sgt. Stewart Smith, Boyette was accused of killing three women and 37-year-old Mary Rice were inside the motel. 

Boyette and 37-year-old Mary Rice were believed to be traveling in a white 2006 Chevy Cobalt.

According to Sgt. Stewart Smith, law enforcement received a report that the stolen vehicle the couple was believed to be traveling in was spotted at the West Point Motel.
