TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Firefighters say they have rescued a worker who was trapped 40 feet in the air in the bucket of a burning boom truck.

The incident happened at 715 Gaines Street.

The Tallahassee Fire Department says that around 10:43 a.m., units from station 1 responded to the report of a person trapped approximately 40 feet in the air in the bucket of a boom truck that was on fire.

Crews quickly arrived on scene and found the citizen high up in the bucket, and the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

They began extinguishing the fire while being wary of the many power lines that were surrounding the incident. Firefighters then set up a ladder truck to rescue the worker.

The fire was brought under control and the worker was retrieved from the bucket and brought down to safety.

There's no word if the worker was injured in the incident.
