The crash involved a car, semi-truck and pickup truck.

Troopers said the vehicles semi-truck driver was traveling eastbound on I-10 in the outside lane of travel, the pickup truck was stopped in traffic in the outside lane, and the car was stopped in traffic in the outside lane.

As the semi-truck crested a slight hill on the top of I-10, the driver saw traffic was slowing and stopped and made an evasive maneuver. But the semi-truck jacknifed and the front of it collided with the left side of the pickup truck and then with the rear of the car.
