TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - April marks 50 years since the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and people have been honoring his legacy and involvement in the civil rights movement in Tallahassee.

On Tuesday the Museum of Florida History is welcoming all to learn about King's role here in town.

But they also plan to go into how his assassination affected the community and the work people, especially FAMU students, did to carry on his legacy after his assassination.

That will all unfold at this month's History at High Noon.

To mark the 50-year anniversary of Dr. King's assassination, FAMU professor Dr. Darius Young will discuss the rich history behind King's role here in town.

Dr. Young has spent years studying the Civil RIghts Movement, specifically right on FAMU's campus.

You can join him and others today at noon at the Museum of Florida History.
