TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - FAMU is the owner of nearly 4,000 acres of land in Brooksville, Florida. The land was transferred to the university by the USDA Agricultural Research Service.

This marks one of the single largest land transfers to a Historically Black College or University in history from the USDA.

The University will use 3,800 acres to develop educational training and programs for new and beginning farmers and ranchers, and to teach them the latest biotechnological innovations.
