TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Florida A&M University has named a new associate athletics director for Sports Administration and it's a name some at FAMU may already know.

Marvin E. Green Jr. was appointed by Athletics Director Milton Overton Jr. and is set to begin his new role on Wednesday.

University officials say Green served as the Director of Student Activities for 23 years. Green is also a university alumni and will continue to coach the FAMU men's golf program in his new role.

"It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to assist AD Overton in building upon the rich legacy of FAMU's athletics programs," Green said. "I am encouraged and excited about the future of FAMU Athletics, and will give myself wholly to the success of our student-athletes and our coaching and support staff."
