TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - — TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - At FAMU, the "Women Who Are Doing Great Things" event helped students network with women leaders in the community.

Organizers say the goal of Wednesday's event was to expose the campus to the women leadership in the community and to let them know that women do great things every day.

SGA Vice President Robyn Seniors hoped students mingling with female leaders, many of them FAMU grads, would show them they can do the same no matter where they come from or their circumstances.

"I really wanted to take this time, especially being the climate that it's in, with just women on the rise and there being the most women in Congress currently, to really showcase that women have been and are going to continue to do great things," Seniors said.

Key women in attendance included Angela Suggs, president of the Florida Sports Foundation, Tax Collector Doris Molloy, and several female police officers.

The event was held in partnership with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
