QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is set to host an active shooter training for the faith-based community.

The Sheriff's Office says they are holding the training to ensure the faith-based community is prepared with a pro-active plan to deal with threatening incidents.

They say they also aim to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and churches.

"As Sheriff, I am elated for the opportunity to bring law enforcement and the faith-based community together for this important training. Our aim is to enhance awareness on how to best prepare, react and respond to disruptions, violence and active shooter incidents in our faith-based communities," said Sheriff Morris A. Young.

The event will take place Thursday, December 14 at the First Baptist Church at 210 West Washington Street in Quincy.

The training will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
