Election Results for Tuesday's Primary

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Here are the results of some of the local races in Tuesday's primary election.

Andrew Gillum walked away with 75.7% of the vote. Opponents Zack Richardson had 14.13% and for Larry Hendricks, 10.17%. Gillum will still face a write in candidate in the November general election.

Curtis Richardson has won the race for City Commission seat 2, with 52.26% of votes, beating out Diana Oropallo (39.82%) and David Riddle (7.92%).

Looking statewide, Governor Rick Scott won the Republican primary with 86.35% of the vote. He beat out Elizabeth Cuevas-Nuender who brought in 11.12% and Yinka Adeshina who got 2.53%.

In the Democratic race, former governor Charlie Crist beat out opponent Nan Rich. Crist received 76.13% while Rich got 23.87% of the votes.

George Sheldon won the democratic primary for attorney general. Sheldon won with 67.07% of the vote, beating out Perry Thurston who got 32.93%. Sheldon will face off against current Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi in November.

In District 8, Alan Williams (D) gained 70.13% of the vote, beat out Dianne Williams-Cox (D) who got 29.87%.

And in District 9 it was Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda (D) with 81.08% beating out Arnitta Grice-Walker (D) - 18.2%.

Republican Steve Southerland and Democrat Gwen Graham both ran unopposed in the race for U.S. Congress House District 2. They’ll go face each other in the November election.
