LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - An 89-year-old woman is in critical condition after a two-vehicle accident in Liberty County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of County Road 12 and 379.
FHP said a Chevy Impala was traveling westbound on County Road 379 and a GMC Silverado was traveling southbound on County Road 12.
FHP stated the Impala failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the Silverado.
The driver of the Impala suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, however the 89-year-old passenger was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare with critical injuries.
The driver of the Silverado was not injured in the accident and the passenger sustained minor injuries but was not hospitalized.
According to FHP, alcohol did not play a factor in the accident, but the driver of the Impala was the only person wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
FHP said charges are currently pending.
