SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - One person was injured when a dump truck carrying sawdust overturned in Suwannee County.

The truck blocked one lane of travel at the intersection of C.R. 349 and U.S. 129, causing authorities to ask motorists to avoid the area Friday morning.

Friday morning around 9:15 a.m., The Florida Highway Patrol says Richard Allen, 39, of Live Oak was driving the dump truck northbound on U.S. 129 and preparing to make a left turn onto C.R. 349.

As the truck began turning, another car that was coming off C.R. 349 eastbound turned to go north on U.S. 129.

Allen maneuvered to avoid hitting the other car, but it caused the truck to overturn and spill the load of sawdust it was hauling.

The westbound lane of C.R. 349 was blocked until the truck was removed.

Suwannee County Fire Rescue crews said the Allen's injuries were minor and say he taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
