TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- The Florida State University Police chief calls it the largest bust in recent memory when they arrested Evan Kaufman. Law enforcement say they found more than 4 pounds of marijuana and just over 5-thousand dollars in cash.

Drugs on campus. How common is this occurrence?

"Our calls for service for drug activities varies from night to night. It can go from as many as none to half a dozen", said Lieutenant Hank Jacob of the Florida State University Police Department.

"It makes me wonder if there are even closer drug dealers around campus and it makes me feel a little bit unsafe because sometimes they [drug dealers] do get violent", explained Florida State Sophomore Kacey Johnson.

While different students do have different opinions on the use of marijuana at FSU, you might be surprised at how often the school's police department gets calls for this offense.

As a matter of fact, according to FSU police logs, during the last 30 days, there have been 20 drug related calls.

"And typically most of our calls come from employees who observe activities, smells", said Jacob, "versus private citizens who don't tend to call in as much."
