TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A driver and his passenger are in the hospital with minor injuries after bolting from police in a stolen pickup truck.

The Tallahassee Police Department says the incident began around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday on the 2500 block of Holton Street.

Police say the driver, Marshae O'Neal, 25, refused to stop, instead putting the stolen F-150 in reverse and ramming a police car, before speeding off.

The sheriff's office helicopter tracked the truck near the airport, and officers used stop spikes to rip the truck's tires.

TPD says O'Neal drove through the intersection of Springhill Road and Orange Avenue, where he hit a black sedan.

Officers say O'neal then tried to run away, but they caught him.

Police say neither the officer in the cop car originally hit nor the driver of the black sedan was injured.

O'neal and his passenger, Leonanna Perry, received minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Charges are pending.
