LIVE STREAM: Downtown Tallahassee New Year's Eve 2014 event

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Join WTXL ABC27 and thousands of your closest friends to ring in 2014!

It's all part of the Downtown Tallahassee New Year's Eve 2014 event taking place downtown in Kleman Plaza.

More entertainment and activities are planned for this year's free, family-friend event. This includes live broadcasts of WTXL ABC27, an interactive "Kidz Zone" and live musical performances by Royce Lovett, Tobacco Rd Band, Little River Band, and "Auld Lang Syne" performed by Colleen Nixon.

Event Details:           

6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.  – StarMetro will run buses every 15 minutes from Governors Square Mall

7 p.m. – Kleman Plaza opens to public, Top Hat Limo VIP pavilion & MASSIVE Partyzone opens, Growing Room Kidz Zone opens

Note: lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.  Coolers, tents and sound systems are prohibited.  Beer and alcohol will be available for purchase on-site (proof-of-age is required).

7 p.m. – Master of Ceremonies State Representative Alan Williams

7 p.m. – Royce Lovett to perform

8:30 p.m. – Tobacco Rd Band to perform

10 p.m. – Growing Room Kidz Zone firework display

10:30 p.m. – Little River Band to perform

12 a.m. midnight – Happy New Year! WTXL-TV ABC 27 to simulcast New York City’s Time Square Ball Drop, fireworks show sponsored by “#1 Public Utility in America”

12:15 a.m. – Colleen Nixon to perform Auld Lang Syne following the fireworks show

1 a.m. – Event to conclude

1:30 a.m. – Take a Taxi Home program, sponsored by Eubanks, Barrett, Fasig & Brooks, to conclude

In addition to the free public activities, tickets are still available for the exclusive VIP Party Zone at the TCC Capitol Center (formerly the Brogan Museum). Tickets include open bar and food catered by a number of local restaurants. Tickets also include access to premium concert and firework viewing area.

This year's event is also supporting America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend's growing effort to provide meals to those in need in our community.

VIDEO: Rich English with America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend, appeared Thursday on WTXL ABC27 Sunrise to talk about the growing need and how you can get involved during the Downtown Tallahassee New Year's Eve party to help those in need. Also appearing Thursday on Sunrise is Bo Schmitz with event sponsor Four Points by Sheraton to talk about what's new with this year's event.


Because of limited parking downtown, Downtown Tallahassee New Year's Eve event committee has partnered with City of Tallahassee, Star Metro, and Governor's Square mall to provide parking and transportation for the event.

Additional parking will be made available at the SEARS parking lot at Governor's Square Mall on Apalachee Parkway. Star Metro will provide shuttle service between the mall and Kleman Plaza. The last bus returning to the parking lot at the end of the event will depart Kleman Plaza at 1:30 a.m.

Local law firm Eubanks, Barrett, Fasig and Brooks have also partnered with the event to sponsor the Taxi Home Program.
