THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Thousands of folks are expected to be in Thomasville over the next several days for the 97th Annual Rose Show and Festival.

Many people are coming to see the beautiful floral arrangements on display.

During festivities, hundreds of hybrid rose varieties will be shown by growers throughout the southeast.

At the Garden Center on Broad Street they have hundreds of native plants on display as well as different table settings, all of which were judged earlier Friday.

Folks at the Garden Club say they love learning about all the different plants and seeing them all displayed.

"People love to walk through and learn about new plant material and ask questions or look for something special in their yard and see where they can get that," said Gina Shumake, Garden Council Chairman.

The Garden Club hosted its flower show to the public until 5 p.m. on Friday.

The club will open back up at 10 a.m. Saturday for the public to view.
