TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leaders in Tallahassee discussed kids and improvements they would like to see in schools.

The Tallahassee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority held a "Conversation about Education."

Members of the Leon County School Board talked to folks and answered questions at Florida A&M University.

Some of the topics included school safety, charter schools, and expulsion and suspension rates, especially among students of color.

Elsie B. Crowell, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Social Action Chair: "We're going to be extracting info from what we hear, determine some of the actions the sorority can get involved in, and then we are going to go out into the community and look at those residents and areas that we think are most affected."

Delta Sigma Theta plans to hold more events like this in the near future. The next topic will be voter awareness.
