TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A forced main break caused an estimated 100,000 gallons of untreated domestic wastewater to overflow in Tallahassee.

City crews found a force main break at about 4:30 p.m. Friday near PS 94 at 202 Summerbrooke Drive, off of Meridian Drive.

City crews stated based on a review of the flow data, it is estimated that 100,000 gallons of untreated domestic wastewater overflowed and accumulated in a closed stormwater system known as Holley Pond.

Vac trucks and septic haulers were used to maintain the station while the system was off and the overflow was stopped by 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The pipe was repaired and the station began operation again at 10:10 pm. on Friday.

City crews said water quality samples will be taken.
