TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The morning of Nov. 4, the Tallahassee community lost one of its shinning stars. Florida High graduate Cam Brown passed away after a hard fought battle against osteosarcoma.

Thursday night, family and friends gathered for a "Celebration of Life" to remember the good times and the mark Cam left on so many.

It was a night of sharing as hundreds flocked to the Bethel AME Church to remember #32, Cam Brown. Cam was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in May of 2017. Now that he's gone family and friends are sharing what he meant to them.

According to friend and wrestling teammate Dejay Robinson, "Through thick and thin Cam always behind me, I guess that's what I'll remember most. Cam was just so positive. He could find the best in any situation."

Friend Devin Robinson says, "No matter how young I was Cam never treated me like a lesser person. He treated me like an equal and he treated me like he was my best friend. He met every problem with a smile."

Those who showed up wore cams favorite colors and super hero symbol. #TeamSuperCam was in full effect.

His coaches say, he had that affect on people, he was infectious and would light up a room.

Florida High's defensive coordinator football coach Julius Harvey said, "Just the positive aspect that he brought to life and the way he approached life. That's what we'll remember most."

Cam's wrestling coach Clay Allen said it best: "The thing we can do is make sure we keep his memory alive by acting the way he acted, loving the way he loved and being happy. We should carry on the way he would have carried on."

Cam Brown will always be remembered for his smile and tenacity. He was a true fighter until the end and always believed a little hard work can go a long way.
