TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- As Florida State University students move out of their dorms, townhouses and apartments, so do their belongings -- some of which they won't keep.

Rather than dumping unwanted things in the trash, the university is encouraging students to donate items back to the community.

The "Chuck It for Charity" campaign lets students drop off their "stuff" -- anything from unopened food to bicycles. Books, clothes, decorations -- they're all sorted and passed out to local community organizations.

FSU has collected and donated more than 72 tons of items in the campaign's six-year history.

The campaign ends Saturday. To learn more, visit http://sustainablecampus.fsu.edu/Our-Programs/Chuck-it-for-Charity.
