TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - There are many newcomers to not only the Tallahassee City Commission but also staff within the city.

And that's means there are many refresher courses for the team to go through.

WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams was live Wednesday morning to tell us about the latest training for the city leaders.

Tallahassee city officials are coming together Wednesday morning for a Public Records and Ethics Training.

Just last year, the city tapped Reese Goad to come on as the new city manager after Rick Fernandez stepped down due to an ethics investigation.

Then Commissioner Scott Maddox was suspended by Gov. Rick Scott amidst an FBI indictment.

Now the newcomers and those who have been working in City Hall for a while will learn more about the appearance of impropriety. That's basically doing anything that may raise suspicion regardless of intent.

The training will also touch on financial disclosures and gift laws, the topic that led to Fernandez having to step down.

And it will finally address the Ethics Commission Complaint Process specific to the City of Tallahassee.

The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at City Hall.
