Christmas Eve Crash Leaves One Dead in Suwannee County

LIVE OAK, FL (WTXL) -- One person is dead and another was seriously injured in a Christmas Eve crash in Suwannee County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when 22-year-old Timothy Branham was driving northbound on SR-51 in Live Oak. As he turned left onto CR-250, another vehicle traveling southbound crashed into the passenger's side of Branham's car.

Troopers said Branham was transported by helicopter to UF Health in Gainesville with serious injuries. 

His passenger, 69-year-old Ramona Garcia, was pronounced dead on scene. Nobody in the other car was injured, troopers said.

Troopers said charges are pending the results of an investigation.
