TALLAHASSEE, Fla., (WTXL) - Cancer patients, survivors, and their families throughout Florida gathered at the capitol today.
They are asking legislators to support the creation of a Palliative Care and Quality of Life Interdisciplinary Taskforce.
Palliative care helps relieve symptoms, pain and stress for patients dealing with a serious illness.
The taskforce would provide recommendations to the governor and legislature on improving the quality of life for both cancer patients and their families through the palliative care programs.
They would be comprised of 11 healthcare professionals from Florida with palliative care work experience.
