GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Ahead of prom this weekend, high school students in Grady County are learning about the severe consequences of driving while under the influence.
Wednesday morning, first responders held a mock crash drill, showing the scenario of drunk driving and the fatal damage it can cause.
The mock drill was held by Grady Substance Abuse Awareness Prevention Council.
Jeremy Davis, a Cairo high school alumni told his story of his crash with his use of drugs and alcohol.
He hopes it has an effect on the decisions the young students make moving forward.
"My brother is actually going to share his testimony, both of us are addicts in recovery," said Davis. "Both graduates of Cairo high school, both understand the severity of drugs and alcohol as it relates to prom weekend, so we are out here to share our story about whats happened in our lives."
Juniors and Seniors will be attending prom this Saturday night.
