TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — 211 Big Bend, the area's crisis and suicide prevention lifeline, held their 28th annual fundraiser, to continue serving the community.
A Night of Hope, Chips for Charity featured music by Crooked Shooz, Vegas Nights Casinos, food and drinks, silent auction and more.
This event is their largest fundraiser, a creative way to help families and people find services and support in the community and surrounding areas.
"There's always been a stigma about seeking help for things like depression, suicide and mental health. I think more education is out there now that helps people know that there's a place they can call and it's safe to call and that's what we want to provide," said Randy Nicklaus, President of 211 Big Bend. "It is great to see so many people. We have over 250 to 300 people out here tonight."
Their goal was to raise $42,000 Thursday night.
