FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Authorities have announced an arrest in the murder of a well-known southwest Florida doctor.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office reports that an out-of-state man was arrested for the killing of Dr. Teresa Sievers, who was found dead in her Bonita Springs home in late June.

Officials didn't provide details on the arrest or how investigators made the connection between the 46-year-old Sievers and the suspect.

Sheriff Mike Scott would not answer questions from the media during a Thursday news conference. He did not provide details about the suspect, including an age, hometown, correct spelling of his name or the exact charges that will be pursued. He has not yet provided a cause or manner of death for Sievers.

Sievers, a married mother of two, was killed June 29.
