TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee man who was arrested for attempted murder after a drug deal ended with him shooting up a car has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Terry Pixley, now 30, was found guilty at trial in May of attempted second degree murder with a firearm, shooting at an occupied vehicle and possession of cannabis. He has been sentenced to 30 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

On Sept. 4, 2017, Pixley fired a handgun several times at a pickup truck occupied by three people. Court documents say one of the victims inside the car had bought marijuana from Pixley earlier but claimed he had been shorted a gram during the transaction. Due to the earlier incident, that victim had a plan to steal marijuana from Pixley.

When they arrived at a home on Tiny Leaf Road, Pixley shot at the pick up truck, hitting the truck and shattering the front passenger window.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man was arrested for  attempted murder after a drug deal ended with shots fired into an occupied pickup truck.

Terry Jamar Pixley, 28, was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Thursday on charges of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Pixley, a convicted felon, has remained in jail since he was booked there  Sept. 13, 2017, on three charges for the same incident: shooting at, within or into an occupied vehicle; possessing a firearm by a convicted felon; and using or displaying a weapon during a felony.

On Sept. 4, 2017, Pixley fired a handgun several times at a pickup truck occupied by three people, according to a probable cause affidavit signed by a Leon County Sheriff's Office deputy.

The occupants of the pickup had come to A Tiny Leaf Road residence, where one victim planned to obtain a small amount of marijuana from Pixley.

That victim had been shorted by a gram on an earlier drug deal with Pixley, when Pixley had gone to the victim's Wakulla County residence, the court document said.

The document said the victim had come to the Tiny Leaf Road residence with a plan to steal marijuana from Pixley.

A person who Pixley was staying with said that Pixley first shot a handgun at the truck as the vehicle drove away from him toward the dead end of Tiny Leaf Road.

As the truck traveled back by Pixley and toward Crawfordville Highway, the witness told the investigator he heard more gun shots but did not see Pixley shooting the handgun. The witness had run into a bedroom.

The three occupants of the pickup truck said they heard gunshots. Some shots struck the truck, and one shot shattered the front passenger window.

One victim suffered abrasions to the left side of her face and arms from the broken glass.

Pixley remained in jail Friday on an $85,000 bond.
