TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two people are dead following two separate accidents this weekend.
WAKULLA COUNTYThe Florida Highway Patrol says the first accident happened in Wakulla County, just after 5 p.m. Saturday on Springhill Road just north of New Light Church Road in Crawfordville.
Troopers say Brian Lee Cherry, 37, of Tallahassee was killed. Troopers say Cherry was driving on Springhill Road and began to veer off the roadway when the driver overcorrected trying to get back onto the roadway and flipped the 2001 Chevrolet S-10 they were driving.
Troopers say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
JEFFERSON COUNTYThe second accident, in Jefferson County, happened just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday on US 19 North, just north of Boston Highway in Monticello.
Troopers say Jerry Lee Goodman, 46, of Monticello was walking in the inside lane of US-19 when he was hit by an approaching vehicle. Goodman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
