TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Gretna police chief is facing charges surrounding a traffic incident, according to a court report.
Chief Brian Bess is facing one count of giving a false report regarding a traffic incident. The document says the Bess reportedly gave the false information on December 8, 2011.
The City of Gretna released the following statement:
"The City has recently been made aware of a traffic incident which occurred on November 20, 2011 involving Chief Brian Bess. At this time the City is awaiting the outcome of the court case to determine what, if any, disciplinary action is warranted. In light of the court’s ongoing consideration of this case, the City will not make any additional statement until such time as the matter has been fully disposed of by the court.”
