TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - What comes after publishing a book? As an author, making sure that your book is being read is equally important as getting it published in the first place.

The Tallahassee Writers Association hosts a monthly meeting giving writers helpful hints to further their writing career and is focusing on "Building Your Reading Audience" at the October meeting.

This month's meeting will feature author Doug Alderson. Alderson has published several books including Simon's Wonderous Garden, Wild Florida Adventures, and The Great Florida Seminole Trail.

The meeting is Thursday, October 16, at the American Legion Hall in Lake Ella. The meeting begins at 6:30pm and is open to the public. The American Legion will be open at 5:30pm for those picking up something to eat at Food Truck Thursday.
