TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Meet our Pet of the Week, El Bassador!

This six-year old is a Labrador Retriever and Basset Hound mix.

El Bassador came in to the shelter as an owner-surrender. He's great with other dogs and kids. El Bassador is laid back and enjoys calm walks and a nice yard to investigate.

El Bassador is in good health and is heartworm negative. He's also already been neutered.

Tuesday is also the monthly low-cost rabies and microchip clinic at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center for dogs and cats. Pets must be at least three months old for rabies shot and two months to get a microchip. Cats must be in a pet carrier and dogs on a leash.

The clinic is August 4 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the shelter (1125 Easterwood Drive). There's a suggested donation of $5 for rabies and $10 for microchip. For more information, click here.

You can catch our Pet of the Week every Tuesday morning at 6:30 on WTXL Sunrise.
