Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--We're exploring the very reason Georgia is called the Peach State.

Luck and Moody Peach Shed has been selling peaches in the community for over six decades.

"My dad was the third grower in Brooks County so he started this business back in the late fifties so I've been n it all my life", says Lougene Luck.

Now Lougene runs the show, but the process is still the same.

Mrs. Luck says gets up early to get started, picking peaches at the crack of dawn. But things haven't always been peachy.

"I have found out with our changing seasons that you can't just grow everything down here anymore, we tend to have late freezes and late frost," Luck says.

The rough winters haven't slowed down business. Luck and Moody bring in customers just passing through as well as long time clients who have remained loyal over the years.

Luck, a school teacher by trade says she understands the importance of giving back and does so through employing local teens.

But from the jobs, to the produce; Luck says the real harvest are the daily smiles from local customers.

": I just love people to light up and know they're getting a good product....being able to have customers all over Brooks county come and support your business means a lot..and you're giving back to the community by providing all these things", Luck says.
