Your car's tires wear at different rates. Depending on what kind of vehicle you drive, some wheels power it, some steer it, and some just roll along with the others. To get the longest life from your tires and to make sure they wear at the same rate, it's a good idea to change their position periodically. Most tire companies recommend rotating your tires every six-thousand miles. Ten-thousand miles should be the longest you should wait before rotation. Front wheel drive cars especially need rotation on a regular basis. The warranty on some tires could be voided if you don't rotate your tires at specified intervals. Most vehicles vary on the particular way the tires should be rotated. Your car's owner's manual should have this information. Contact a qualified mechanic or tire specialty shop in your area for more information on tire rotation.
