TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Georgians, get ready! It's almost time for the 35th Annual Boston (GA) Mini-Marathon and Festival!
It's a family-friendly event featuring free live entertainment, music, arts and crafts, plus games. There will also be a 5k Walk and a half marathon, attracting both runners and walkers across the South. The 13.1 mile ½ marathon is a sanctioned run over a wheel measured course through picturesque countryside.
Some of the events entertainers include Ozell Road, the Thomas University Jazz Ensemble and Chip Tanner and Tanner's Lane.
Kicking off Friday, October 24th, is the annual BBQ cook off. The winner will be announced Saturday evening, after judging. There will also be a Halloween contest.
The entire event ends Sunday, October 26th. It's no cost to attend but each event has a separate registration fee.
The 5k Walk is $18; ½ marathon is $30; for vendors it's $35 and $25 for the BBQ cook off.
