LEON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- Commissioner Bill Proctor is hoping to reduce the penalties for possession of marijuana for amounts up to 20 grams in Leon County.
His proposed ordinance would reduce the penalties to a civil citation.
Commissioner Proctor says that the civil citation program will allow all law enforcement officers to merely issue a civil citation under the County Code for simple possession of cannabis in an amount less than 20 grams, even if there were prior citations.
