TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Students and faculty at Florida A&M University will hear from a special guest at the university’s annual Black History Month Convocation.
We’re told Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.
It’s scheduled for Feb. 17 at 10:10 a.m. in the Alfred L. Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
Lt. Gov. Carroll was the first female elected to the position. Organizers of the event tell us this year’s theme is “Black Women in America Culture and History.”
In addition to her duties assisting the governor with economic development, Carroll oversees the Florida Department of Military Affairs, Florida Department of Veterans Affairs, serves as the Governor’s Designee on the Florida Defense Support Task Force and as chairperson of Space Florida.
