TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - It's out with the old and in with the new on Florida A&M University's campus.
The University's Polkinghorne Village, a currently unused, on-campus apartment complex, is being demolished. The effort is a part of a plan to rebuild the complex, creating a new residence for students.
Polkinghorne village was built in 1967 and closed in 2004, according to a previous article by the Famuan.
FAMU president James Ammons said in a previous interview that construction on the complex is scheduled to be completed Fall 2012.
"It's going to be a showcase for Florida A&M University students," Ammons said.
