ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Documents show that Florida A&M University police investigated at least 10 complaints about hazing involving the school's famed marching band between August 2007 and November, when a band member died after being hazed.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/xFhgoU ) received the campus police documents through a public records request.
The newspaper reported Saturday that the documents show that days before an alleged hazing ceremony left former FAMU student Bria Shante Hunter with a broken leg, Hunter complained to a band employee about being hazed and beaten by band members.
According to the documents, Hunter told police that she reported the hazing to the band employee while the band was on a trip to South Carolina.
Authorities are still investigating the death of band member Robert Champion in November.
