LIVE OAK, Fla. - Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a pickup truck.

It happened Saturday afternoon around 4:30.

Troopers tell us Humberto Machuca, 46, of Live Oak was driving north on US 129 when he attempted to make a left-hand turn on 110th street, cutting into the path of a motorcyclist heading south on US 129.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Brian Adams, 23, of Branford, Fla.

Troopers say Machuca and a passenger in his car, Manuel Rincon, 45, Live Oak, fled the scene of the crash but were captured about two blocks west of the crash.

They say alcohol was related to the crash.  Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
