Valdosta, Ga (WTXL) -- The U.S. Military announced that thousands of civilian jobs on Air Force Bases nationwide will be cut, hundreds of them will be in Georgia.

Business members in Valdosta and Lowndes County say they're doing all they can to make sure Moody Air Force Base stays open. The base they say has been contributing to the local economy since 1941.
