KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate at the Osceola County Jail apparently hanged himself over the weekend.

Records show that 41-year-old Russell Leigh Smith had recently arrived from Florida State Prison.

The sheriff's office reports that his cell mate found him hanging Saturday night.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Smith pleaded guilty in September to two counts of aiding and abetting others to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

He was sentenced Jan. 12 to three years and four months in federal prison.
