Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)-- Tallahassee's Envision Credit Union representative Leslie Smith says her branch has seen a steady increase in customers over the past few weeks.

Smith says the main thing those new customers want to know is, are there debit card usage fees. She says many bank customers are switching over to credit unions in hopes of saving money. Smith says her company is ready to welcome them in.

The switch could soon increase, as an online movement calling for a "Bank Transfer Day" gains popularity.

Long time customer Diana Miller says she has a banking account at another institution but doesn't use it because of its high fees. She says if people switch over to credit unions they will see the positive difference.
