10th annual "State of Black Florida Summit" coming soon

The Florida Legislative Black Caucus and the Florida Conference of Black Legislators will host the 10th annual State of Black Florida Summit, February 8-11, 2012 in Tallahassee.

Organizers have invited African Americans from across the state to join them at the Capitol, where they will have the opportunity to advocate on behalf of their groups and communities. Participants will also hear from black legislators in a program they've put together, covering everything from education, the upcoming election and redistricting.

This year organizers have reached out to organizations and have over 15 organizations joining the effort, to draw a larger turnout. The events are mostly free and open to the public.
