DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. - An arrest has been made in a murder investigation regarding a Decatur County man found shot to death on his property Sunday.
William Phillip Mosley was arrested Monday, Sept. 12, after investigators found a possible murder weapon. Other items belonging to Mosley were also discovered.
Mosley has been charged with murder, false statements, and armed robbery. He is now in the Decatur County jail.
Jeff Gray, the victim of the shooting, was found at his home in Attapulgus, Georgia by one of his brothers.
ATTAPULGUS, Ga.- A man was found shot and dead in Attapulgus, Georgia. Deputies from the Decatur County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
John Jefferson Gray, 47, was found dead by a family member near a woodshed on his North Griffin Avenue property, Sunday. He had been shot.
An autopsy of Gray is scheduled.
The Decatur County Sheriff's Office is offering an $8,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Neighbor and close friend Ana Mosley says Gray was like a son to her. He would often help maintain her property. Mosley said her son was one of the last people to see him alive. They were having a BBQ at the Gray home on Saturday evening.
Mosley tells us Gray was the second of three brothers and settled an ongoing dispute over land, Friday. Investigators would not comment on this, saying it's part of their investigation.
