SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. - Suwannee County deputies are continuing their search for a man who attacked a woman and tried to sexually assault her.
Sheriff Tony Cameron tells us the woman was attacked on Sunday, around 3 p.m, outside her home about 12 miles south of Live Oak.
The sheriff says the victim was holding a yard sale when the man asked her for money. She says the man then attacked her, beating her with a pipe and chain, and attempted to sexually assault her. She was also cut with an unknown object.
However, she was able to fight him off and the suspect got away.
She described the suspect as a white male in his early 20’s, approximately 5’10” – 5’11” tall, thin to
medium build, with sandy blonde hair that was short on top and slightly longer in the rear. He had bad teeth,
and smelled of cigarette smoke and grease. He also had a “scruffy” look with some chin hair and thin lips.
There was an unknown tattoo on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue
jeans with a large belt buckle, and a pair of leather or suede tan gloves with black ties.
