TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Residents in a quiet neighborhood in Tallahassee are concerned after a murder happened there this weekend.

O’Bryan Brandy, a 29-year-old Tallahassee cab driver was killed after responding to a house early Saturday morning.

Tallahassee Police say they arrested Derrick Butler, Nelson Alexander, Davin Bowers, and Deondre Handsford in connection with the murder.

According to a police affidavit, the four chose an abandoned house at 1015 Idlewild Drive to rob a cab driver.

When O’Bryan arrived, he was shot twice at close range.

Police were able to track the four suspects using the number called in to dispatch Brandy.

Brandy worked for the Yellow Cab Company.

Monday, members of the Florida A and M football team remembered Brandy, who used to be a player on the team.

"He was a good teammate, he was a leader, he always led by example, but he worked real hard and he played with a lot of passion," said Juan Vasquez, a special teams coordinator with the Rattlers.

Police say Brandy was not specifically targeted, but residents say they’re worried about their quiet neighborhood now.

“We walk down this road every day, to go to Walmart,” said Arata Coles, who lives nearby, “or to go to work, during the daytime, nighttime, that's how secure we feel walking in this neighborhood, until a couple a days ago when somebody was murdered.”

This murder comes on the heels of a double homicide last week, in what was also a quiet neighborhood on Veda Street in Tallahassee.

“I would not say residents need to be worried so much as they just need to be vigilant about what they do,” said David Northway with the Tallahassee Police Dept., “know where they're going, always travel with other people, pay attention to when they're walking to and from their cars."

The four suspects are being charged with first degree murder and robbery with a firearm.
