"Stone Age & Primitive Arts Festival" 2012 coming soon
The Ochlockonee River State Park wants you to discover what life was like back in the day during their 5th annual Stone Age & Primitive Arts Festival. It is happening on February 24, 25 and 26, 2012 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. The event will take place at the Ochlockonee River State Park, located 429 State Park Road, Sopchoppy, Florida 32358. It is 4 miles Southwest of Sopchoppy off of US Highway 319.
During the event you will gather keen insight into how early man lived and worked. Participate in demonstrations of flint knapping, the art of projectile point fashioning, along with deer hide brain tanning, bone, wood, and antler carving. Observe old world and new world bow and art construction, basket weaving and early pottery. Competitions in Atlatl throwing and primitive archery are scheduled. An auction will be held on Saturday to auction off donated artwork.
The cost of the event is free work park admission of $4.00 per vehicle, up to 8 occupants.
