36th annual Olustee Battle Re-enactment & Festival

The community is welcome to attend the 36th annual Olustee Battle Re-enactment, the nation's second largest annual Civil War Re-enactment. This was the battle on February 20, 1864 which resulted in Tallahassee being the only southern capital to fall to Union forces.

The re-enactment on Sunday, February 19, 2012 will start at 1:30 p.m. and involves more than 2,000 re-enactors. It takes place on the Olustee Battlefield State Park. The cost to attend is $3.00 for children and $7.00 for adults.

The festival in downtown Lake City is on Friday and Saturday, February 17th and 18th. More than 40,000 visitors attend for live entertainment, arts & crafts and a wide variety of foods. The festival is free of charge.
